     "Extira" Composite Shutters offer the lowest cost in our shutter line, but offer the best in benefits for the dollar with a limited lifetime warranty.  "Extira" offers moisture, termite and rot resistance in any climate.  This exterior MDF (medium dense fiberboard) may be the heaviest shutter in our line up, but eliminating the expansion and contraction that are found in all wood shutters makes our "Extira" Composite Shutter line a wise choice for any homeowner.   Finishing requirements include both oil base primer and oil base or acrylic latex paints on all six sides (front, back, top, bottom and both sides of the shuter).

     The traditional material used for wood shutters, solid pine or cedar, have always been a poplular choice.  Offering a medium to higher price range, wood shutters offer a one year warranty against defects in in the material and craftmanship.  Given the fact that all wood shutters will expand and contract in the changing seasons, wood shutters will require the most maintenance.  Finishing requirements on wood shutters also include oil base primers and oil base or acrylic latex paints on all six sides.

  Azek Solid PVC Shutters offer the best of all the options.  Including a limited lifetime warranty, this lighter shutter* still offers moisture, termite and rot resistance with fewer finishing requirements.  Some expansion and contraction does occur in these shutters, but unlike molded cellular PVC shutters (low cost plastic), Azek Shutters are constructed in the same processes that our Solid Wood and "Extira" Shutters are made.  Azek Shutters do not require priming.  Just paint the face side along with the top, bottom and sides and these shutters are ready to install.  Latex paints can be used for light colors and new vinyl safe paints are available for darker colors.
